This summer has been just splendid. I have been spending a lot more time with my mom. We both are having fun like little kids, swimming, cooking, eating, chatting and gardening. Yes, gardening!
Part of being “Laosy” is knowing how to garden. This ability comes naturally to my mom since she grew up in Laos and had to maintain a variety of crops for our family. She has a green thumb and I have been enjoying every bit of it. We cook up fresh veggies every day. Nothing beats spicy cucumber salad or a medley of tomatoes seasoned with homemade vinaigrette. This is truly fresh and not “grocery” fresh.
Aside from her veggies, she has taken extraordinary care to grow over 50 varieties of flowers. I am just so happy for her and appreciate this example of craftsmanship. When you love what you are doing and take the time to care for it, the outcome is beautiful. Thanks Mom for the loving lesson and your love!
Here are some photos I took of her garden. Click on the images and it will redirect you to the entire collection. Please let me know what you think of the photos. I am learning and would love the feedback. Enjoy!!
